Muslim family safety

The Arabic Cultural Centre (ACC) is a non-profit social organization that works on safeguarding the Muslim/Arabic culture and values as well as promoting the Muslim and Arabic community,  ACC also works on defending the family and preventing violence against women and children.
ACC is also running a school for the children of the community teaching Arabic language and religious matters.
In collaboration with dr. Baobaid président of MRCSSI in London ON. and dr. Cathy Holtmann of MMFC in UNB, the Centre organized a workshop in 7/12/2019 in NBCC . The workshop discussed important subjects like:
– The importance of collaboration about Muslim family safety.
– The  characteristics and concerns of the Arabic community in Fredericton.
– Child protection.
– Domestic violence.
Speakers in the workshop included representatives from Social Development- Domestic Violence outreach-Fredericton Police, and other participants.
In order to upgrade its activities,  the ACC  created a partnership project with MMFC and MRCSSI seeking to achieve the next objectives:
– Muslim Family Safety in Fredericton.
– create an advisory committee.
– engage in community mapping.
– organize more workshops and other activities.
-organize professional development training for public service providers on Cultural and religious practices in the Arabic and Muslim communities in Fredericton.
The project was approved and financed by the Federal authorities in the month of August 2020.
The Project is currently operating in realizing it’s goals.
